Wine 1.1.12 Released

The Wine development release 1.1.12 is now available.

What's new in this release:

  • Some simple 64-bit apps should now run.
  • Support for subpixel font rendering.
  • 64-bit code generation in the IDL compiler.
  • New version of the Gecko engine.
  • Various bug fixes.

The source is available now. Binary packages are in the process of being built, and will appear soon at their respective download locations.

Wine 1.1.11 Released

The Wine development release 1.1.11 is now available.

What's new in this release:

  • Numerous fixes for IE7 support.
  • Support for 64-bit cross-compile using Mingw64.
  • User interface support for crypto certificates.
  • Better support for MSI installation patches.
  • Various Direct3D optimizations.
  • Various bug fixes.

Major Milestone: Somebody's machine passes Wine's test suite!

One of the most puzzling and poorly understood phenomena in the Wine community is how Alexandre Julliard's machine has been the only one to pass Wine's test suite for years.

While we are no closer to understanding the source of the problem we have identified another machine to pass the suite without any errors! The magical machine that passed (the first non-red, orange, header on test.winehq.org!) is run by Alasdair Sinclair.

Wine 1.0 Released

The Wine team is proud to announce that Wine 1.0 is now available. This is the first stable release of Wine after 15 years of development and beta testing. Many thanks to everybody who helped us along that long road!

While compatibility is not perfect yet, thousands of applications have been reported to work very well. Check http://appdb.winehq.org to see the details for your favorite applications.
