           Summary: Add Direct3D support
           Product: Wine
           Version: CVS
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: wine-directx
        AssignedTo: wine-bugs at winehq.com
        ReportedBy: fgouget at codeweavers.com

This is a big task of course. It would be good if it could be split up into
smaller tasks but I don't know enough to come up with smaller tasks.
So what I will do instead is try to collect the various threads of discussion
that occured on wine-devel on this subject. Then at a later date this bug can
become a metabug for the individual tasks.

An interesting post was made by Lionel (see below). Then the discussion
degenerated and veered completely off-course.

A good overview of the various tasks at hand. Basically we need 3 or 4
commited developpers. Should be feasible no?

 * 2002/06/06 - Roland - Do we need Direct3D? How about OpenGL?
In short yes: most games only support Direct3D.

 * 2002/06/26 - chan george - will "dxglwrap" merge in to wine?
The answer is no. The code appears to be very incomplete and there are
significant licensing issues.
