To be more specific, Wine should move to the new XEMBED based systray protocol
developed at freedesktop.org - kde will be moving to this new protocol shortly
also (kde 3.1 may already implement it, not sure).

I've been pondering doing this for a while, but since I have other priorities I
won't be starting until it drifts to the top of my todo list or some funding is
available. It's not a huge amount of work but it basically involves rewriting
the system tray code, so it's not a 2 minute hack job either.

This should probably be done for 0.9 as it's a highly user-visible problem and
will only get more visible as time goes on and the legacy systray protocol is
abandoned.
