fails to pass control to the existing running copy.  For example, notes.exe is
started under Wine.  From my browser, I want to use notes.exe to open a Notes
doclink file (ndl).  Under Windows, telling the browser to use notes.exe to open
the ndl file causes the name of the ndl file to be passed to the existing
instance of notes.exe, and the link is opened within that instance.  Under
Linux, telling Mozilla to use notes.exe to open the ndl file results in a quick
flash of a window  and then nothing.
