It looks like this bug is not a duplicate of bug 1631, because in my case (see
bug 5476) everything works nice under 2.6.16.20 (both alsa/oss). I'm using only
vanilla kernels with no patches applied. So, this bug is _not_ gentoo specific.

I have Creative Sound Blaster Live (emu10k1 kernel driver) soundcard which
allows full hardware sound acceleration. And only in 2.6.17 (both alsa/oss) I
get numeroes errors like:

This bug is easily reproducible with Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete Game.
