It's implicit in the "mount file /mnt -o loop" command.  Recent mount versions
invoke losetup for you.

I don't think it makes any difference.  IIRC cdemu is a more powerful
equivalent to losetup.  You can mount its devices the same way with -o
loop=/dev/whatever.
