Summary: World of Warcraft 2.1.0 hangs on exit (
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.37.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: wine-directx
AssignedTo: wine-bugs at winehq.org
ReportedBy: spin667 at mchsi.com
Previous to upgrading to WoW 2.1.0 the game exited cleanly. After the 2.1.0
patch, the game hangs on exit.
It can be killed but no game setting changes are made. This also results in
having to re-accept the TOS and EULA agreements each time. (This can reportedly
be avoided by deleting the RunOnce.wtf file in the WTF directory.)
I am using Xubuntu 7.04 (i386, not x86_64), with nvidia-glx version
1.0.9631+2.6.20.5-15.20, and wine 0.9.37 from the wine.budgetdedicated.com repo.
I used winetools to set up the directory. As a consequence there are a number
of dll overrides in place. I am using win98 as the winver. Perhaps other
people can confirm this issue who have a cleaner wine setup.
The game itself is still perfectly playable. I have however seen more in-game
glitches, whether that has anything to do with wine or not I couldn't say.
I will attach the output from wine in another comment.
PS: I examined other bugs in bugzilla, and did a quick search of the mailing
list. Hopefully this isn't a dup.
