yes, i can reproduce it with a clean wine directory.

steps:
set win version to win98
install ss2 demo with intel indeo codec from:
http://www.download.com/System-Shock-2-demo/3000-7539_4-913338.html?tag=lst-1
run system shock (cd (...); wine shock2.exe)
