the problem is that windows applications on wine don't see the correct free
space unless a dosdevice is set up specifically for that partition.

installed on debian using the deb here
http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/archive/index.html.  wine did automatically set
up dosdevices for c:=/home/user/.wine and z:=/, but did not set up dosdevices
for the dvd drives.
