I tried out the demo version. The exe itself is a self-extracting zip. After
extraction, I ran demo.exe, where a window pops up allowing me to select
software rasterizer, 3dfx or direct3d. I select software rasterizer and crashes
with these errors:

err:syslevel:_EnterSysLevel (0x7ee43c20, level 2): Holding 0x7ed2f3c0, level 3. 
Expect deadlock!

err:seh:setup_exception stack overflow 16 bytes in thread 000e eip b7d285d0 esp
00240ff0 stack 0x241000-0x350000


The err:syslevel errors just repeat from the beginning finally terminating at
the err:seh:setup_exception.

But, since the demo version doesn't have the same installer as the CD version,
how do I find out what causes the problems with the CD installer as well as
getting the program itself to work?
