I've done some further investigation on this issue, and I'm not convinced its a
problem with Wine now. Turns out patch 2.2 rolled out a new software driven
sound system:

And to confirm this, it appears that many Windows users are having the exact

I guess for now you can mark the bug as INVALID, since it may be something to
fix on Blizzards end of things.
