Thanks for the quick reply.  I removed the Wine that I had installed and
installed from source with git.  I tried to apply the patch according to the
link posted above and got the following error message.

#########################################
~/wine$ patch -pl < task.txt
patch: **** strip count l is not a number
#########################################

I have tried the command with no switches and tried reading the --help command
but do not know enough to actually know what exactly it is I am trying to do. 
I have written some script files before but I am not exactly a programmer so
please forgive me for all of the questions.
