Yep, slow as hell in git. See this repeatedly:
err:d3d7:IDirect3DDeviceImpl_7_SetRenderState Unhandled texture mag 4 !
fixme:d3d7:IDirect3DDeviceImpl_3_SetLightState  D3DLIGHTSTATE_MATERIAL called
with NULL material !!!
fixme:d3d:state_mipmaplodbias Render state WINED3DRS_MIPMAPLODBIAS not
implemented yet

This was also printed before game started/after canceled.
err:d3d_surface:d3dfmt_p8_init_palette This code should never get entered for
DirectDraw!, expect problems
