with new hardware but 8hopefully) same game settings I couldn't reproduce this
bug in Wine 1.1.1. AFAIR when reporting I couldn't reproduce the bug
straightforward (which made git regression testing a really tedious task). But
now I tried again and again and again - the bug didn't occur again, so I assume
it's fixed. Different shadow settings mentioned by Mika hadn't any effect on my
machine (at least no others than showing shadows or not as anticipated).
