1. when i put in /etc/hosts file it says "Permission denied"

2. when I put "hostname -i in it doesnt say "127.0.1.1" it gives me class A ip
address and there is only 2 digits in the fiurst 2 octets                      
  example. 11.11.111.111    also when i try to change it, through              
"(edit /etc/hosts)" it says "no write permission for file "/etc/hosts" were do
i go to allow read and write permissions?
