I opened a new terminal and ran sudo lsof /dev/snd/pcm* /dev/dsp  Nothing
prints in the console now for some reason, so I retested an application in wine
to see if sound worked and it does not work, I still get 

This sound card's driver does not support direct access
The (slower) DirectSound HEL mode will be used instead.


and no sound.


Reopening bug, this is still an issue.
