The crash likely isn't in opengl at this stage. I think the msvcrt is the most
severe one and I'm not sure why it occurs. Try to use a native msvcrt.dll
perhaps it works better. (or the updater is doing evil things like e.g.
updating the executable on the harddisk and in memory or whatever).
