Installer log in win98 mode

Looks like it may be related to the installer attempting to install drivers:

fixme:vxd:VXD_Open Unknown/unsupported VxD L"com10.vxd". Try setting Windows
version to 'nt40' or 'win31'.
fixme:vxd:VXD_Open Unknown/unsupported VxD L"com11.vxd". Try setting Windows
version to 'nt40' or 'win31'.

Which it then repeats up to com255.vxd !
