This affects Yahoo Music Player (bug 9749) and
also the xmllite installer (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/915865).
(To get to this bug on xmllite installer, you have to do
"winetricks volnum" first.)

Bryan's hack doesn't help xmllite installer.  The log shows:
