Cursor with hardware rendering

Attached a screenshot of the actual issue. The box around the cursor is a sort
of window to a layer that collects images of the cursor as it has been dragged
around the screen. As the cursor type and size changes (eg. for digging mode),
the box size changes too. Note that this is only an issue when 'Hardware
Rendering' is selected from the graphics options menu, and as such can be
easily worked around.
