Ok, I found some time to do regression testing and here's the result:

I wanted to be sure, so I re-fetched/updated to current GIT, then reverted only
the presumed bad commit, recompiled and tried Morrowind: it worked, so I can
confirm that that one is really the commit that caused the regression.
