somehow you lost me there.

enable/disable via registry makes sense, however 

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\AppDefaults\lotroclient.exe\DllOverrides]
"ws2_32"="native"

lost me, I asumed from your post it would be in the mainline of wine (when
accepted), so what does the above mean or do ?

anyways hope it will get accepted, will you hear when/what build ?
