I have an Acer Extensa 5220, Intel X3100 Graphic-Card, and the driver used is
Intel GM965/GL960. Additionally I am not pretty sure about the compiz, i.e. if
it is installed, or not, resp. disabled or not.

The syslog says:

Jul 17 21:14:51 yoga-w kernel: [ 34.697066] agpgart: Detected an Intel 965GM
Chipset.
Jul 17 21:14:51 yoga-w kernel: [ 34.697332] agpgart: Detected 7676K stolen
memory.
Jul 17 21:14:51 yoga-w kernel: [ 34.737131] agpgart: AGP aperture is 256M @
0xd0000000
Jul 17 21:14:51 yoga-w kernel: [ 34.955340] ACPI: WMI-Acer: Mapper loaded

And what I have noticed, this does not occur all the time, that the computer
hangs. But in all cases the app fails to launch.
