I've relayed this information to Apple.

How might this problem manifest itself? The wine compile does at least complete
with Xcode 3.0 so I didn't know about this problem.

Xcode 2.x is only available on Tiger; this means wine cannot be compiled
properly on Leopard? This sounds like a separate issue. Is there a separate
Wine and/or Radar issue number for this?
