Nicolas, I think you're running "FIREFGHT.EXE" directly, without having first
having set up the game with "LOADER.EXE". As far as I can tell, the bug is
still there in the latest GIT.

As for running it on Windows, Fire Fight did not support Win2k until version
1.2, but I've been unable to locate a working copy of the shareware edition for
download. In 1.0, it seems that the loader simply refuses to run unless Windows
version is set to 9x.
