I'd like to emphasize again that I don't get any rendering issues anymore
either, and that's on a 5 series card.

The only problem left is the abysmal performance - and as already noted above
it has gotten even worse in current git. Probably there are two or more bugs
(or however you want to call them) responsible for that now, one specific to
the 5 series and one that is more general.

Anyway, the original issue this bug report was concerned with has been fixed;
we're still discussing here because the fix seems to be responsible for a part
of the performance problems.
