well, good job with your 'dirty hack', now autocad 2005 installs and starts,
even if it gives an error on startup, then crashes.
But that's good, at least we can start it and try to find bugs on it.
It crashes because an unimplemented function on gdiplus, but here we could open
another bug.... But I'm willing to test it a bit more before doing it.

About the installer, I'm not sure if the "vba deselection" removes completely
the vba stuff or just the vba ide... I should test it on windows. My feelings
are that parts of vba are still needed somewhere, so vba runtime gets installed
even deselecting it.
