It is not chosen in Windows because there the application works. So Microsoft
has nothing to do with this one.

Indeed there is a difference between Windows and Wine. The System font does not
contain Japanese glyphs on either system but in Wine it claims to support
Japanese script - Notepad font dialog offers the choice of Japanese script for
the System font in Wine but not on Windows.

So what is at fault here here? Wine is supposed to be a runtime for Windows
applications. I have an application that works on Windows and not in Wine. But
wine is not at fault. So what is?
