I have just installed my german DVD version of the game (speech is still
english though, only the subtitles are in german), and patched it to 1.2 (no
fan patch applied yet).

It works even without a no-DVD patch, no crashes so far. I have some trouble
with the sound but that's a different story.

Wine is 1.0.0 (also works with todays GIT).
