in the /.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Adobe/Acrobat 6.0/Acrobat directory there
is an executable called AdobeUpdateManager.exe.

Here's what happens when I run wine AdobeUpdateManager.exe:

me at laptop:~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Adobe/Acrobat 6.0/Acrobat$ wine
AdobeUpdateManager.exe 
fixme:spoolsv:serv_main (0 (nil))
err:advapi:service_get_status service protocol error - failed to read pipe r =
0  count = 0!
me at laptop:~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Adobe/Acrobat 6.0/Acrobat$ 


don't know if that helps at all.

given the name of the executable, this bug probably affects other Adobe
products as well.
