...Yes that *is* my problem, but untill I have a Wine that correctly configures
and builds on my system (Slackware 11. I'm waiting eagerly for Slack 12.1), 
I'm unwilling to call this a wine bug.  If the configure problem is fully
solved and the font is still missing, I'll re-open it.  This much updated Slack
11 is getting tiresome. but in a good way :-)

Perhaps the confusion is that I was *also* missing all the other fonts as well.
Without the mozart9.tff things look ugly here.  But I am confused by your
screen shot.  It shows well formed notes and music symbols...that's not so 
here.  There is also a report that the program installs and runs on Slack 12..?
Ah...darkest before the dawn.
