I can't believe this is a game bug. The bug must have gone unnoticed through
all versions of the game. It's present in Serious Sam The First Encounter, all
versions and also in The Second Encounter.
As the game was played by a rather large community with different graphic
adapters I think the probability of nobody encountering such a bug is very low.

But you're right. Even the ingame log gives:

Pixel Format Description:
  Number:     1 (TYPE_RGBA)
  Flags:      DRAW_TO_WINDOW SUPPORT_OPENGL DOUBLEBUFFER 
  Color bits: 32 (8:8:8:8)
  Depth bits: 0 (0 for stencil)

Gonna ask Jan if he can test this in a native Windows environment. Maybe
running the game native makes it behave differently.
