Now the issue is inconsistent for me too. I have two laptops, one is a Thinkpad
T60 running Ubuntu 8.04 with wine 1.0 rc1 installed via source and the other is
a Dell 1420n running Ubuntu 8.04 with wine 1.0 rc1 installed via source.

On the Thinkpad I always get the crash in the cabinet dll. On the Dell I get
the same issue that you see, where it just spews blank lines but doesn't crash.
Both of these were tested several times with clean .wine directories.
