The "only prints..." part was for another bug I posted for the game, since I
tried launching it via AssassinsCreed_Launcher.exe and AssassinsCreed_Dx9.exe.

I tried using only AssassinsCreed_Launcher.exe just to be sure, and it did
print an error, which I've now attached.  I apologize for missing it earlier. 
Here's to hoping this helps somehow.
