I have even worse in this case on a HP nx9420.
Its a ATI Mobile Radeon x1600 with 256 MB memory.
I can ONLY see the login picture if i let the intro run through it self and not
pressing any keys to stop it. Then and ONLY then i see the login screen and
all.
Else i have a black screen with the theme sound going in the background.
