Okay, so I have this error in Supreme Commander too, right. I'm using Wine
1.0-rc1 on a 64-bit openSuSE and I've encountered the following:
- Supreme Commander first refused to run because of missing DLL files.
- After adding them, the game started and was playable fine (I only started a
skirmish to test), but without sound. I didn't have to patch the game as the
copy protection seemed to work (with CD in drive, without CD no workie).
- In order to get sound, I followed the instructions on its AppDB page
(regsvr32 xactengine2_*.dll).
- After this, the game refuses to start even and gives the following exception:

- Patching the game doesn't help.
