With 1.0rc2, Ubuntu Dappper and Intel I still observe a crash and backtrace
involving MESA as shown in comment #8, so my summary of the situation in
comment #7 still applies. As it's very likely a bug in MESA, you may wish to
close this issue and mark it as "Not My Bug" -- or leave it open so that Ubuntu
Dapper users find it. Ubuntu Gutsy and Hardy are not affected.
