I'm not some kid that puts him system out for the script kiddies and bad guys
to get.  I'm not so paranoid that I believe that everyone is out to get me and
I've never had any virus attack any system of mine, including all versions of
Windows.   

Could you be specific about how Wine gets broken when I run as root.  Are you
telling me that Wine cannot be run as root?  Nothing in the link you gave me
shows any reason that Wine does not run as root and in fact it does.  

In addition, I doubt seriously that the bug we are currently discussing has
anything at all to do with the user since all users get the same type of error.
