I have this problem with each game I am using in Wine since I formatted to
install Intrepid Ibex with Wine 1.1.7. Last known working configuration for me
was Hardy Heron and Wine 1.1.5. I imported each prefix I had in my Hardy Heron
installment in my new Intrepix Ibex installment.

Here is the output for Knights of the old republic 2 when I last tried the
game. I do not see any lines which are relevant to the issue here, but I will
post it nonetheless in case it turns out to be useful:

When I select the OSS driver in winecfg as suggested, I get no sound at all. I
am willing to try out new suggestions and post reports about them.
