You forgot the +, so your log didn't have much in it.
It did have the line

wine: Call from 0x7b8458c0 to unimplemented function
ntoskrnl.exe.ZwMakeTemporaryObject, aborting

which is interesting... I didn't know Photoshop CS4 used a kernel
driver.  

Did you have something else installed in wine?

Does this happen on a clean installation (i.e. if
you rename your .wine directory to .wine.old and reinstall Photoshop)?

Was this the retail disc, or the downloadable demo?
