I'm currently crashing when I leave the cell stage to enter the creature stage
- other than that, stage changes aren't causing any trouble.  I crashed one
other time a few seconds after beginning the civilization stage, but it wasn't
during the transition - seemed to be random.

Lighting effects are off - in fact, all graphics are turned down to the
minimum.
