Yes, I did. I compiled alsa-drivers with Tashaki Iwai's latest stable version,
which has a driver that runs well with my Creative X-fi soundcard. (I don't use
a whole test-build, just the driver portion.) If you think it worthwhile, I
will purge them and recompile wine with the current generic drivers.
