The installer is a pretty tough nut to crack. Adobe is known for using the
Win32 API for lots of corner cases and other uncommon things, which means lots
of other stuff works fine, but not their stuff. And fixing that stuff doesn't
help many other (non-Adobe) programs.

Rest assured, Adobe products _are_ a priority. Just not the _only_ priority.
