I'm experiencing the same issue with Wine 1.1.27: the splash screen vanishes
after a few seconds, leaving an empty virtual desktop.

I've tried every single howto on the internet to install EVE, the tips
mentionned above, but nothing resolve it. I'm gonna commit suicide with a
butter-knife.
