I have never needed the HW_OK key on either my Nvidia or AMD machines. I just
tried using a recent Wine in combination with AMD and it just works fine. Are
you sure that your 32-bit opengl is working fine? Try to make a log using
WINEDEBUG=+wgl wine sketchup.exe > log when the registry key is not around.
