Dmitry, you are absolutely correct. This is indeed a ATI video driver problem.
The pci card I am using is an ATI Technologies Inc Radeon X1200 Series, and the
problematic driver is "fglrx".

No overlap is now seen in Source Insight, once you uninstall "fglrx".

#yum remove kmod-fglrx*
