Yes, Ivan's workaround works properly. This is not a bug, as it is a programmed
feature of the game. Within windows, the game minimizes itself, and resumes
upon restoration. However, this is not the case on Linux.

Pressing Alt-enter or allowing WINE control over the window manager will "fix"
this problem.
