it seems it's another one of the directx dlls missing...

XACTEngine, XAudio2, X3DAudio and XAPOFX families DLLs all seem to not be in
wine.

d3dx9_38.dll is not needed native anymore, but you could try getting the xact
dlls from native and see if it works.
