[Bug 19310] Rosetta Stone crashes

Sorry it took so long to preform the regression test. 

Unfortunately, I am not confident in the result since it is the very first
commit, and appears to be trivial. I waited until a crash each time before
using git bisect bad.

I've also noticed that occasionally Rosetta stone will not even progress beyond
the first splash screen without a fatal error, and will continue to have this
problem until I restart.
