Sorry, I messed up my previous comment. Let me try again:

0. Ran without error in 1.1.22-1.1
1. Upgrading from 1.1.22-1.1 to 1.1.22-2.1 gave the error as described.
2. Deleting .wine and reinstalling software removed the error.
3. Upgrading from 1.1.22-2.1 to 1.1.23-1.1 gave the error as described.
4. Deleting .wine and reinstalling software removed the error.
5. Reinstalling 1.1.23-1.1 over 1.1.23-1.1 (same version) did NOT give the
error, contrary to my original post about reinstalling the same version.

The outputs attached represent:

* Output pre-update to wine (1.1.22) - output after step 2, but before step 3.
* Output post update to wine (1.1.23) existing .wine - output after step 3, but
before step 4.
* Output post update to wine (1.1.23) creating new .wine - output after step 4.

Hope I've not made another cock-up in what I've written.
